Hi ,

2 days ago drop in at a bike shop , saw this used Rocket for sale , without thinking bought it . Now am a proud owner of a Rocket II .

My question is when I am changing the gear , i feel that when the sound of the gear changing is kinda loud .. is this normal .? or should i change only when the RPM hits above 3000 rpm ?

sorry for stupid question .. last time i rode a bike was 2o years ago and it was only a 400 cc . just fell in love with the rocket

many thanks in advance ... jack

If you got a Rocket II, you're missing a cylinder ;-)
(sorry, had to be the first)

The trans is very clunky. Don't worry about it.
Shift at wherever RPM you are comfortable.

hahahahahhah oops its original triumph rocket III .. hahahah

Yep, mine is pretty clunky too though she does seem to shift better over 3,000, sometimes I mange to shift perfectly, like a knife through butter, not even a click, ay other times the THUNK can be heard blocks away - does sound meaty thought at the ligts, THUNK, green, at the speed limit in a second and a bit...:D:D:D

Welcome aboard sharkfin,
you made a good choice in getting the rocket.
What color?
Sure hope it wasn't a RED one.
They're made with the second run parts you know.
The BLACK ones are made with closer tolerances
and first run parts.
They're far, far superior.;)
Whatever you got, you got a TRIUMPH
and thats a good thing.
Welcome aboard from Oklahoma.
