Hello all, NE USA (MA) here.

My father recently passed and gave his bike collection to myself and my brother, a ton of old UJM bikes and 2 Triumph Rocket 3s.

See attached photos.

I am looking to sell the black 2010 Touring on the left as it's in great shape, low mileage, and not really 100% my style, and I will personally be keeping the red one on the right.
I have ridden a lot of fast bikes/literbikes, my last bike was a 2006 R1, and I am already looking into power mods for the R3. Does the RAMAIR kit really make that significant of a difference, and is a tune required to run it? If so, are there any open-source programs available for flashing?

Thanks!

Hello @ejoy1220 and welcome from Virginia. I am saddened to hear of your father's passing. I lost my own dad in Aug.

Tune ECU is the app you are seeking for the remapping work which you will need to do if you upgrade the intake. I have the Ramair on my touring and like it a lot. The increase in power is slightly noticeable in the seat of your pants. But the intake sound is awesome.

To add significant bolt-on power beyond the intake, you need headers,
which is much more expensive, $1500+ new: Viking, Carpenter, etc.

Sorry for your loss and WELCOME! to our R3 family.
