Lubing the shaft

Got a 2014 Roadster and doing the 20k mile service. Does the forward splines in the driveshaft (part that goes to the engine)) need greasing? I have greased the splines which goes to the gearbox but never the engine side.

I don't think there is a way to grease the front part of the shaft. There is no grease nipple at that end.

i think that it gets its lube from the motor
motor oil

To lube shaft at torsional damper remove swing arm. it needs grease, torsional damper has an oil seal thats not supposed to leak.

Kevin, those have never been removed or greased on the 2tone . I thought that they required no service.

I believe 1k9 is correct. That end of the shaft doesn't slide like the end at the rear end. Bevel box.

The driveshaft is solid, if one end slides the other end ofcourse is sliding, the shaft is greased at factory on both ends. Taking off the swing arm most will never do, the bearings in swing arm need cleaning and greasing as well. Salud
