So my rear tire was flat. Its winter time and its a great time to buy a new tire, stick it in the shop and get the work done. Well not many people can work on, or are willing to work on these rockets. Especially makes it harder when they only work on "hondas, or HDs or whatever brand they like to specialize in. There is no Triumph shop anywhere near me so I was excited when said yes, they can do it. Only cost $50.00 if I take the wheel off, but hell, they'll take it off for $100.00. So I air it up, and take the bike down there. They said they will have in done in 2 hours. Great! Well, Everyday I called for the next two weeks. On the days they actually answered, it only need 2 more hours. But its winter so no big deal right? Well I finally get it back, I ride it the 2 miles home to stick it in the garage. I go in the garage a week later.. Its flat again.. So I get to looking,

and I see metal shavings all around the right side bead.
Then I notice the gouge in the sidewall near the bead.
Then I notice the valve stem is missing the right angle elbow.
Then I notice giant dings in the rim and more severe abrasions where the rubber meets the rim.
Then I notice there is no pins in the brake pads. I grabbed one and pulled it straight out..
Then I remember the ABS light never went out on the way home.

Anyway, some of you might have seen this on the FB group. I did just buy a 2010 wheel off of ebay. It has a tire and it looks in good shape, but wondering what else I might need to look at. What parts am I missing for the pads? Also, do you think this rim is useable?

Wow! You've got a real horror story there. Dare I ask, are you going to take it back to the shop to see what they say?
I sent them messages with pics. No response, I know they are getting them. After researching their "reviews" which I should of done before I set foot there, I see one guy took his bike in and it somehow ended up being sold! I believe trying to deal with them is going be a waste of my time. I'm considering small claims court. I don't know far that will go. There is no paper work to show they did any work and I paid cash. I got pictures, 1 text message to show I did have it there for something and 1 witness that can say picked up a bike there. That's it.

I read the reviews on fb. Alot of suspiciously perky and positive reviews.
And i saw the one about the guys bike getting sold. There should be arrests being made. Both the garage and who ever bought it. They wouldnt have a title! Im afraid of what id do if the law didnt do anything.

I just talked to the guy with the missing bike. He never got it back. Say's he can't even prove they had to bike to work on it. Its a shame that a business can get away with crap like this.

Same story with me. Almost every time i put mine in it gets damaged in some way. When i had my new Harley Road King, i had a rear tire changed they managed to drop the mount/dismount head on the rim putting a dent in it. I did'nt notice until a week or so later so it was too late. I do not trust any bike shop anymore. Main dealer or otherwise.
They will always put their mark on your bike if they can. The trouble is they are in too much of a hurry and under time limits all the time.

The arson squad would be sifting through the rubble if this happened in certain parts of my world

Im glad i have a good tire shop. Rgv cycle stuff.. In mcallen tx. A small shop thats main focus is tires. I always remove the wheel and bring it in anyway. Id be leery of a shop that does bikes AND cars. Probably use the same tire equipment for both.
