Hi I am cbr3fl. I have an 06 R3 classic. My only interest is riding my bike otherwise i'm working which isn't that much fun 55y.o. It's a nice bike but sounds like a garbage disposal when in gear. This is a clutch problem need some ideas.

Welcome from Florida

I'm going to disagree....rather a sewing machine.
You can do a few things to change the sound but first get use to the bike's power.

It will never sound like a V twin. Remember it's a 4 cylinder car engine with one cylinder cut off.

You can get TOR's or D&D slip on pipes. You can change out the complete exhaust system depends on your wallet. What ever you do have it re-tuned afterwards, then start over and get use to the power.

Welcome from Northern Michigan!!!

I actually do not mimd the ound of my srock exhaust, especially on long trips.

I remember when I put on some English Custom exhausts on my America it had the sound Triumph should have. A nice rumble, but not obnoxious. Too bad they do not make something similiar for the R3.

Not sure I would like the TORS for long hauls. Besides yoi change to TORS and remap, there goes the mileage....

Another Welcome from Florida

I also don't mind the exhaust, the quieter the better... With the Rocket I don't have to mask little power with a loud exhaust, you "feel" the power.

Perhaps if you are near another member, they could meet you and see if your bike's sounds are unusual. Where do you hail from?
