Well.. After bragging how my early Rocket has avoided most problems that have plaqued others with over 37,000 miles, I've now hit the dreaded idle problem over the past couple of days. GRRRRRRR.. The bike will barely idle at just above a fluctuating 550 - 600 RPM.

I'm going to try the 12 minute tune tonight after the bike cools down. This has worked in the past, but it's running a little bit different this time. Then I will unplug the PC-III (reloaded tune I was running already) and plug the O2 sensor back in and do the 12 minute tune again, and THEN.. I'll make an appointment with my dealer and get the latest Triumph TORs/Cat by-pass tune and have them check it out.

While hooked up to the laptop, I was looking at the throttle position settings, and the closed position readings continually fluctuated, which makes me think the TPS issue is here, but... we'll see..

I too have fought the idle problem on my 05. I ended up hard setting the idle and adjusting the TPS .06V. That was when the bike had @ 5000 miles. I now have 24000 miles and never an idle issue. the dealer replace the stepper motor and retuned several times to no avail. I still think that its an ECU problem, it can't hold its adaptive memory.

If your TPS won't hold steady voltage (throttle closed, engine not running), your TPS is bad.

You mean you didn't get the punchline for the .com ****heads? :D

Don't waste your time with the GSXR TPS. I only used it in a pinch because the Triumph unit was backordered, and I wanted to ride. You have to pay more for the GSXR TPS, and swap leads... it's for emergency use only.

Dave,

Let us know what happens. You know why I am interested. The 12 minute tune has always done the trick for me when mine acts up.
