Well I made a set of home made wind deflectors...and what an ass whoopin. If I could find suitable clamps (two piece) two go around the forks it would be cake pieces. I tried to use exhaust clamps and it turned out that they are a pain in the butt to open up and then bend back into shape (close up) around the forks. After I finished one (only to discover that the plastic I bought was probably two thin and would flop around) I dicided that the factory ones are a steel at what ever price. Lesson learned. If I had the knowledge and machinery of Flip it would probably not be a big deal. Cutting out the plastic was the easy part. My thanks to MarkC for sending me the templates. I now have a set on order:eek::D. I have a picture in my photo's for your viewing pleasure.

Clamps

I've seen it suggested that 2" pipe hanger clamps from Lowes work well.
They are steel with a rubber liner..

Seems to me they wold need to be more like 2.25", but thats what I've read.

Yes, Lowes pipe hangers. I modified some Harley wind deflectors and used 2" (2 1/2 are too large) rubber coated pipe hangers. Attached are some pictures.
