Hi Evereyone! My name is Mats and i live in Finland.
Been lurking around here since last september and have come to the conclusion
that you guys can probably solve every problem ever releated to a Rocket III.

At the age of 44 i've been messing around with HD:s the past 24 years or so, not ridin
that much, mostly building/designing for others and myself and just as a hobby.

A few years ago i started looking at the Rocket III, but never moved on to actually
investigate further. So last summer i went to diffrent dealers here just to sit down
on a Rocket and feel what its like. First impression was:
-Fits me fine, but this too heavy.

I repeated the process several times to the point that the dealers thought i must be
some kind of weirdo:eek:. I never had the courage to actually testride one until
about 1 month ago...

This time i went to a local cardealership where they had a used 2005 with 70000km:s
on it. Asked if could take it for a testride, and the reply was, Yes sure.

Long story short: Oh man, this bike is incredible to ride:D.

Last saturday i bought another 2007 R3, with only 19000km:s on it.
So now i'm a quite happy camper.

Ride safe everyone!

Hello Mats..Welcome from Perth Downunder..
Glad to hear you made it with the R3 ..they are only Heavy when you Stop sooo keep on riding.. enjoy but treat her with lots of respect :D

PS Engine Guard guard bars are a good investment in case you loose footing and roll over :cool:

Another Aussie g'day and welcome ... went much the same route myself. Lot of HD's and kept checking out the Rockets after a mate bought one ... be hard to find another bike to replace it with now... like you said ' im a happy camper'. Safe Roads.

So did you buy the '05 and '07
or just test rode the '05 and bought the '07?
If ya tested the '05, wHY didn't ya buy that one right then and there,
unless you did of course.
That "test ride" is a marketing ploy that got a LOT of us.
Either way, WELCOME, glad to have ya with us.
skip from Oklahoma, U.S.S.A.

Hmm, i see my post was a little confusing regarding which bike i bought...

I did buy the 07 as it had less km:s on it, price wasn't much higher either, and also
the 07 has some mods which i would eventually do anyway.
Zard exhaust, triple K&N, Tip over bars, flyscreen (transparent),sissybar, saddlebags,
Custom paintjob with an "aircraft" theme which is kinda neat, done by a Triumph dealer, although the painter should have done some more research on what actually is
written on a fighter aircraft.

The bike has been dyno tuned at a well known shop over here, and according to the
previous owner the bike has approx. 170rwph and 250Nm torque. Now i havent seen
the printout of these figures, and i think it sounds a little optimistic for a R3 with stock
headers and triple K&N and no other performance mods.Anyway i will call the tuning
shop and check this out.All i can say regarding performance for now is:
:)Cruise at 80kmh/50mph----->:Da little squirt----->Cruise at 120kmh/75mph instantly.
