2011 R3 Roadster
Hello Captains,

I've been lurking on the forum for a few weeks now, doing research before purchase. All the knowledgeable postings on this forum have been really helpful in the process, and I want to thank you for that.

I finally pulled the trigger on a new-to-me 2011 Roadster on Saturday, and took it for a nice 200 mile ride around San Diego county back roads on Sunday:

The bike is pretty much bone stock with only 2,200 miles on it, but that should be fixed soon as I'm commuting 40 miles a day with it throughout the year. Some of the near-term upgrades I'm planning for the bike are:
  • Rear suspension (Hagon Nitros?)
  • Pipes + air filters + tune (TORs + 3x K&N + TuneECU?)
  • Smaller mirrors (for lane splitting)
  • Highway pegs (trying to find something that doesn't require a crash bar install)
  • Radar detector (for those ton-up moments :))
  • Black powder coat for some of the shiny bits

Welcome... Im up in LA and I also have a 2011 R3R... I would be happy to come down and show you some of the mods/changes I have done to m ine...

Welcome from NJ, very jealous of your warm weather. Enjoy your new ride,. The crash bars will save you a lot of damage if your bike falls over and they do make a handy place for highway pegs. JMHO

Welcome from Arizona
the crash bars good idea when the ground starts shaking.:D
