I've lost 2 Triumph gas tank knee pads so far (and one that failed was applied by an experienced auto-body guy with his best adhesive). The stock sticky pads don't seem to stick well enough. I also tried 3M spray adhesive, which has never failed me before. I guess JB Weld or mix-epoxy would hold, but would be nice to have them removable at some point without damaging the tank. Anyone got a sure fire cure?
thanks

I think the 3M product is your best bet. The secret to success lies in the preparation.
After you clean any visible remnants, use some rubbing alcohol to clean the residue you can't see. Also be certain you are applying whatever you use within the recommended temp. range. Also, you might try taping the pads on temporarily to allow the adhesive time to cure.

Are you sure you dont use silicon wax on your tank before ?
If it is the case , you will never succeed to glue something
on your tank !
To glue mine , I had used the little sweaper joined with the kit
and never had problem !
