Does anyone out there know how to beat the E-Bay snipers. I waited for the clock to wind down , at 3 seconds left the sniper beat me. This has happened to me four times in a row. I don't know if there is a certain time lapse for the bid to register or i'm just too slow. Any suggestions would be appreciated..

Never bought or sold anything on E-Bay for that very reason ... heard all the stories of people getting outbid at the last minute. Guess if you really want the item use the ' buy it now' option if you can .

Plus.... let's say an item is currently at $3.50. You figure the item is worth about $50.00 to you. You can go ahead and bid $50.00, but the bid will remain at $3.50. Each time another person bids, your bid raises to beat it until it you reach the $50.00 or whatever max you put. If you put in a max bid, you will always beat other bidders, unless they bid higher than your max bid.

This is how I usually bid if I really want something, but if it goes too much over I max, I will let it go.

That's right. Just always bid your max price. You won't necessarily have to pay it. This gives you a better chance of winning the item - but won't guarantee a bargain. If you're wanting a bargain you have to take your chances. Win v bargain.

Your best bet is to enter your max bid. The snipe sites put the bidders max bid in in the last 10 seconds of the auction. This usually wins because the update function on E-bay takes about 5 seconds so by time you react to increased bid, the auction is over.

I use the sniper every time.
I put in (at the sniper site) the max it's worth to me.
By doing that, it leaves the current bid as the high bid and doesn't start a bidding war.
My sniper enters my snipe bid with 5 seconds remaining,
and unless somebody else has a higher snipe bid, I win every time.
Now back to the opening post question,
is there anyway to BEAT the sniper, the easy answer is no.
