I've said it before, but when I'm riding these past two days it keeps coming back to me how great it is to have so many people willing to help out when a member is in need. It turned out to be the stepper motor for me this time (pretty sure- I had another good day riding today), but someone else with similar symptoms will view this thread later and another theory given there will turn out to be the correct solution for them. All suggestions were good ones and were made practically through tin cans and string, without seeing, hearing, or touching my bike- pretty fking amazing, really. Thanks to all. I'm grateful for all the shared knowledge this site provides!
