Hi I have 66 Reg R3 Roadster,

the gear selection is clunky is this normal its covered 10,000 miLes

Cheers in advance

If you're comparing with a Suzuki or Honda 4 or similar, they do seem very clunky, especially 1st to 2nd. As Stolly says, be positive and as long as it goes in and stays in I wouldn't worry.

Yep next oil chanve stuff some Motul 300V 15w50 4rt in her. Since your across the pond thats what I would recommend to anyone. Amything else will be like using note pad paper to whipe your arse.

Yes, they is clunky, but fun! Finicky getting into neutral & first if you don't have the proper clutch lever adjustment...about 2-3mm free play (not to be confused with foreplay).
From the Triumph service manual...

If you think the Roadsters clunky you should try the older ones, just got all the bits together for a conversion, when in traffic, cars with their windows wound up here it and look at me funny (actually may not be the gears now I write this)....
