Nice trip, but 125 to 145 mph(?) on a Thruxton, is that possible? I know I had my 1100 Virago peggeg out (125 mph) for most of my trip across north Florida in 1987 so I don't know how fast I was going but surprised at the Thruxton being able to do that.

No. He was referring to miles per tank of gas. Looks like he came up the back side of the sierras then route 120 through Yosemite...i.e. Tioga Pass, then up the north coast of Ca into oregon. Must have been a great trip, cool!

Yes, he's referring to miles per tank. His avg. speed was 54 mph and his actual riding time was 49 hrs spread across 5 days. I'm so inspired I've decided I'm going to do that. I'm just going to load the bike and go.

Now, where did I put my Paul Stanley signature pillow and sleeping bag...

You might want to leave the chest hair wig at home if you plan on going thru San Francisco.
