I read today that 33% of Motorcycle involved crashes are due to excessive speed by the motorcyclist. Sounds like that was the case here too as well

Yesterday a bizarre crash around here, a motorcycle and a pick-up struck a tree that fell into the road on a blind curve. The truck was in the lead and tried to serve while hard braking. The biker did not see why initially but had no where to serve to in order to miss the fallen tree. He is okay thanks to proper gear, but the bike may not be so lucky.

The point is, we never know what is up around the bend or over the hill. I hit a fawn that way in 2011. Still, even with first hand knowledge of such risk, I will at time push the edge of common sense. I can't seem to help my self. With that said though, I know others far out do me as per the RAA in Arkansas...
