So I am not a real man and have never changed the oil in my car or bikes myself. I figure it’s a cheap form of insurance even though I have been watching a ton of oil related videos and it seems synthetic are good for an insane amount of miles. I live in Calgary and my bike is stored over the winter for around 5-6 months. I always change my oil before storage so it’s fresh in the spring. I really want to start learning how to do this myself. I paid the dealer for the first service but now that I can get Amsoil shipped to me in a day why not take this on myself.
Anyone willing to father me through this? What tools do I need ? What precautions or tricks should I know ? This is embarrassing but I thought I would make an effort and learn.

Thanks Trick.. process is the same for the 2020 bike ?
The oil filter is positioned a bit differently. Follow the instructions in the owners manual and it should not be difficult. A rather straightforward proposition. I only did mine because my usual mechanic was too busy but it is a no brainer.
