I just bought a 2006 Triumph Rocket 3, last weekend and there is a switch and a small lighter outlet looking thing on the side under the seat. I cannot seem to find what they are. Anyone know?

Looks like somebody added a power outlet. The switch probably just turns it on or off.

It’s much smaller diameter than a car outlet is.

It is probably a merrin Socket ,just a bit smaller than the standard cig lighter type socket you can change it easily to the more universal standard female outlet ,

As AndrewK wrote its a powerlet, that is the correct name. It uses a different plug than a standard power outlet ( cigarette plug)

If they used the factory wiring it is always hot and you can use it to charge battery. This is the Triumph option power port.

Not sure what your switch does. I put one in the same spot to open my garage door.

Welcome aboard Mike. I am glad to see you diving into your new machine. We have an introduction thread and I invite you to start a new thread and tell us about yourself and your motorcycle history.
