What were the distances in your photos 5 thru 8?
Looks to be perhaps only in the area of 100 feet.
Head on pix of any light in meaningless and cameras are NOT representative of what a human eye can see.
What counts is the distance that enough light is thrown to allow a driver/rider to identify an impending hazard.
That amount is considered to be 3.2 lux at the ground and 3 feet above.

Wanna do a rough test?
Have a buddy dress in neutral gray then move out a few hundred feet away from your headlight(s) out of your sight to an unknown location about 20 feet left or right of your headlights center line.
Give a whistle for him to start a lateral 20 foot path across your path to the center line and 20 foot beyond.
Then move forward 10 feet and repeat until you can identify you see a human. Then measure the vertical distance and lateral offset.
Repeat several times for validation.

You are correct. The distance I took these at was abt a 100 feet. I'll check out the other test you suggested. Cheers

A proper LED should get your recognition distance (3.2 lux) out to 250 or more feet.
