I just led a four day ride though the mountain country in the area. Had a great time and even encountered another Rocket III rider at the stop in Shady Valley, mid way through the Snake (Rt 421).
We rode-
Day 1:
Rt 42,1 Lexington to Boone NC
Day 2:
The Blue Ridge Pkwy, Boone to Cherokee, then Rt 19 and Rt 28 to Franklin NC.
Day 3:
Rt 64 and Rt 28 East through Highlands and out to Rt 281 (highly recommend this road), and Rt 107 to Sylva NC. Then we took Rt 23 South back to Franklin and road Rt 28 West to deals gap.
We did NOT ride the Tail of the Dragon because of weekend traffic and antics, but rode Rt 129 south to Robbinsville NC.
Day 4:
Rt 143, the Cherohala Skyway, Rt 68 north to Rt 27 and home to Lexington.
A great 4 days and 1200 miles with 3 buddies on HD's
