Just for the curious........the following is a far from comprehensive list of 60-80 top gear roll-on acceleration times for your consideration....

(From Mototcyclist Magazine)
  • 2008 Triumph Rocket 3 Touring - 4.13 sec.
  • 2008 HD Ultra Classic - 12.23 sec.
  • 1999 Honda Valkyrie Interstate - 6.38 sec.
  • 2008 Honda Goldwing - 5.9 sec.
  • 2007 HD Screamin Eagle Dyna - 4.19 sec.
  • 2004 Kawasaki Vulcan 2000 - 4.10 sec.
It is also curious how all bikes are getting faster and faster every year.....the following is a list of older (not much really) sportbikes with comparable 60-80 times to the current R3T.....

(From Sportrider Magazine)
  • 1997 Triumph Speed Triple - 4.59 sec.
  • 2003 Triumph Daytona 600 - 5.04 sec.
  • 2003 Suzuki GSXR 600 - 5.36 sec.
  • 1998 Suzuki GSXR 750 - 4.46 sec.
  • 1997 Suzuki GSXR 1100 - 4.78 sec.
  • 1999 Ducati 996 - 5.35 sec.
  • 2007 Ducati Monster S4R - 4.35 sec.
  • 2003 Kawasaki ZX6 RR - 4.76 sec.
  • 1997 Kawasaki ZX9 R - 4.34 sec.
  • 2008 Kawasaki Concours 14 - 4.28 sec.
  • 2006 Yamaha YZF R6S - 4.44 sec.
  • 2006 Honda CBR 600 F4i - 5.48 sec.
  • 2005 Honda RC51 - 4.25 sec.
  • 2005 VFR 800 Interceptor - 5.65 sec.
Everyone knows that sportbikes aren't just about straight line speed and corner carving is also key......but it is curious the company this big touring bike keeps......(rolling on in a straight line anyway...).

Yep..top gear roll on's make me grin..part of the bikes performance i really like :D
Twist and go..see ya

And check this out....(Motorcyclist and Sportrider Magazine)

2005 Triumph Rocket 3 Standard - 3.11 sec.
2005 Suzuki GSX 1300R Hayabusa - 3.13 sec.
2005 Ducati 999R - 3.5 sec.
2006 Kawasaki ZX14R - 3.08 sec.

That's fast. :kick:

Just got back from an East Texas ride with a bunch of friends and did several roll-ons against my buddy with an modified FJR1300. With his wife on the back he couldn't pull me (at least to 110) in any gear.

The next day he wanted to ride my bike and I pulled him fairly well with just me on the FJR and him AND his wife on the RIIIT.

I knew my modded T was fast, but not that fast!

BTW - Watch out for fresh tar on the road in East Texas. I got my bike a little more sideways than I cared for a couple of times!

A few quick Europeans to watch out for:
Aprilia RSV4 Factory - 3.10
MV Agusta F4 - 2.88
Ducati 1198S - 2.68
KTM RC8R - 2.61
BMW S1000RR - 2.56
