2015 Roadster
I totaled out me 2009 rocket back on May 1st. I'm still recovering but I'm now shopping for a new one and I'm looking at a 2012 flat black and a 2014. Both are flat black rosters and the only mods are windshield, saddlebags sissy-bar and such. nothing for power. The 12 is asking $9,000 and the 14 is asking $9,800.
What are the known issues with either? The 12 does not have ABS but it was the first year for this on the 14. Any issues with this?
Thanks for any assistance.

I had a 2014 with ABS ...No issues with this ride in the time i had it...i bought it from a guy who had put 9300 kms on it and i took it up to 20,000kms.I then bought a new 2016 and sold the 14.
In saying that, its a mechanical machine and things do break...but they are a great bike...go for the 14. cheers.

If it was me, i would go for the 14. The first thing i would do would be to do an oil change...for your own peace of mind. That and the filter. I run Amsoil fully synthetic, the reason being it is not only a great oil but it quietens everything down, gear changes included.
Chances are the current owner has done his first oil change but if he hasnt it will still have the running in oil in it. Best to start out knowing what you have.

Thanks but what I'm looking for are the common problems with the 2012 and the common problems with the 2014. I had no issues with my 09. I loved it and if the insurance company did want $3,000 salvage. I would have bought it back and fixed it.
Specs from top speed...
2012- 146hp at 5750 rpm and 163 torque at 2750
2014- 148hp at 5750 rpm and 163 torque at 2750.
If this is the only difference between the two I'll go with my best deal.
I like ABS brakes but are they worth $800? I'm not saying I'm not going to look further at the 2014. I just want to know if that's the only other reason.
Both are beautiful bikes.

Well i guess were stuck with the 2015 model. Thinking about it all i can live with IMG_0422.JPG that.:cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool:
