12 inch fat apes mounted...

Finally I have mounted what feels like the ultimate handlebar for my Roadster: 12'' fat apes!
They are not cranked to the back as much as the stock handlebar, so I could adapt them to provide lots of space for my long arms. I cut them by about 1/2'' on each side, but they are still really wide.
The stock cables and lines do the job, it was a rather tight fit though.

To my mind these apes look completely natural on the Roadster. This monster makes them look just like a regular handlebar.
Any thoughts and feedback welcome!

Thanks Barbagris! I did the heat shield a year ago, it's the OEM shield turned by 180 degrees.
Yeah, these apes really did the job for me. Cannot wipe the grin off my face now.
Still thinking about forward controls from the Classic though.

When I read the title in the posting list about 'fat-apes'/(Ape Hangers?). I was thinking "are you serious" (not in a good way). But I was genuinely surprised. They look really good
FYI I'm sure I saw an ad in the Classifieds about someone wanting to swap Standard or Classic forward controls and rails etc... for Roadster pegs and rails.

Sure mate, here's the link:

I cut them slightly to 37.5'' width, which is helpful to use the OEM cables and lines.
