    Ceramic Coating Viking Exhaust

Just as a matter of interest, I use www.hpcoatings.co.nz The Chemist that formed this coating (which was developed by the US Military for coating Jet Turbine Blades) went on to sell the Company then formed a new company called Jet Hot Coatings. And as Ruzzle says above, the ceramic coating is...

    My click click starter saga

I had an intermittent starting problem for ages, I eventually solved it by fitting a kit in the starter motor, has been fine ever since. The fact that your bike starts on your auxiliary switch indicates (maybe) a wiring issue ? Who knows !

    2 questions...

That wire is for the blanked out part on the switch block that on other models (non Rocket) have a switch in place to turn the lights on and off. There's something very strange going on with a neutral at the bottom of the range, I can't see it having anything to do with clutch cable adjustment.

    My click click starter saga

i think you could be right about variable quality, The original starter relay on my bike burnt out a couple of years ago, I replaced it, then a short time later had to replace it again. The third one that's in there now has been in there for quite some time, and is fine.

    Intimitant starting

O.K. I may have this problem sorted. I got a repair kit for the solenoid fromwww.repairkitsuk.com quick service, ten days from placing the order to receiving it, minimal time to install and so far has been starting no problem at all. Hopefully this sorts the problem.

Buggered: challenge with calipers and brake pads

Just be careful with ezi outs. You drill a hole in the pin, bolt, stud etc to get the ezi out in, but what can happen is if the hole is too big there is not enough material left in the wall (Bolt/stud after you have drilled the hole) then when you start to apply force in the L/H direction to...

Not sure what I'm looking at - advice?

As Apollo said above, you have the stock header there with the heat shields removed with a short piece of tube added on the end. With this "open" exhaust and the RamAir one would hope that it has had a new map loaded to adjust the fuelling to suit. Also, I agree with Apollo that the stock...

Do let us know how you get on. I've taken the time to order a repair kit from the above mentioned Guy, Carl in the U.K.

    Intimitant starting

Now that this thread has been picked up again .... After pulling the wirers out of the relay block and crimping them the problem was instantly solved .... for about two weeks, but now it's back to exactly the same thing again. I intend to swap the starter motor, but just haven't gotten to do...

    Engine afterfire.

You need to richen up the Zero throttle position setting, this is what is causing the decel popping. Some love the sound  Personally, I dislike it.

    Decel popping

    Cool.

    Decel popping

That decel popping is to me, a hideous sound. When I'm decelerating I like a nice smooth sounding decent down to speed, no bangin' and poppin' Yes, as others have said, adding fuel at the zero throttle position will eliminate it.

Yep, you will need a lot more leverage than what you have had, my Workshop tools would be about 2 feet long.

    Zero idle

Sure am Nat, the stack is about ten high now, in fact I've had to start another stack as it became unstable and fell over :-( I've been playing with the brakes again, have added a six pot to the rear, more balanced front to back now. But still need more braking power, stopping all that mass...
