    Coolant Leak Part 2

I was getting nowhere until I spoke to a riding buddy who is a Volvo mechanic. He gave me some suggestions (including lending me a tool). I think this tool would have worked, but his second suggestion seems to have solved the problem. The first suggestion involved prying off the old part with...

    Coolant Leak Part 2

I found the thread. It doesn't fill me with hope. I have a friend who is a Volvo repairer (of all things). He says he may me able to help. I will call him tomorrow to arrange a time to look.

    Coolant Leak Part 2

The local triumph specialist says he hasn't come across this problem before but is pretty sure he can fix it. The problem is he can't look at it until the 10th. I would take it down to Neville Lush but it would run out of coolant before I got there! I guess I will wait 9 more days. Great...

    Coolant Leak Part 2

I saw that thread. I was hoping to avoid doing that except as a last resort.

    Coolant Leak Part 2

Last week I posted a problem about a coolant leak. The part was identified by Greggor. I ordered one and it has arrived. The next problem is how do I remove the old part? I have tried to gently remove it, but I am reluctant to try too hard as it is attached to the head. The next picture shows...

    Coolant leak

Thanks for that. I will order it before I remove the old one. Looking at it might help me work out how to remove the old one.

    Coolant leak

That's what I thought it was. Definitely not from either hose. I can see it seeping from the point of the arrow in the picture. The elbow joint does not move at all. Thanks for the suggestion though.

    Coolant leak

I had a look and couldn't find this covered before. My bike is leaking radiator fluid from the connector behind the lower left radiator hose. I have disconnected the hose. I tried gently twisting the elbow. It is either very tight or is pressed into the engine. Can it be removed and repaired...

    Just started missing

Including me. One is much harder to get to than the other two. Murphy's law told me that would be the one with the loose connection. Of course, it was the easiest one. The contact came off without any pressure at all. I cleaned both sides and tightened the contact with a pair of pliers. Put it...

    Jacking Up Bike

+1 on the Jack be Quick. Also the Becker Tecknik Rocket 3 lifter maybe useful depending on your requirements.

I was a bit worried about the post until I opened it. I was thinking something slightly different. Glad I was wrong

    Oils ain’t oils sol!

I have been using Penrite MC4ST full synthetic. Four or five oil changes so far. It seems to be very good quality. And relatively cheap if you live in Australia.

    Remove 'damper' from handle bars

I changed handlebars and left them off. I couldn't detect any difference. Your handlebars will also be about 5cm (2") narrower.

Speedo, Odometer, indicators and Fuel Gauge stopped working

I had a look through the Forums but could not find an answer to this problem. I installed new T-bars but needed to move the Speedo and Tacho forward slightly. I removed the instruments and drilled the mounting hole a bit further up to allow the handlebars to lean over further. I carefully...
