I placed the bike on a lift so it would be upright. While sitting on the bike, I held a level up to my chin extending over the front of my bike. I then had one of my dream killers measure from the top of a headlight to the level, making sure the measuring tape followed the rake of the forks. It...

It was very stable. It directed the wind at my helmet with no buffeting. The screen was completely stable with no vibration or chattering. If you were to go with a much taller shield, you might want to ask Mr. Gill if he could use a slightly thicker gauge on his brackets to be on the safe side...

The Secdem is much bigger: I wanted something like a Windvest that fit our headlights and used the existing mounts.

I finally took it out for a ride. I rode about a hundred miles and reached 85 mph or so with no issues. I was worried the brackets may start to bend back due to the wind pushing against the shield. I measured the top of the shield to a reference point on the bike, before and after the ride...

Thanks, I wanted something smaller that used the four fixing kit bolts. I run a flyscreen 90% of the time and wanted an easy swap for longer trips. FYI, I also used his flyscreen black bolt kit: Black Chrome Steel Fly Screen Bolts (set of 4) - Rocke's Patches I did buy his fixing kit but I’m...

    Windshield Alternative

I didn’t have time for a ride today. I bought an 18” shield so the edge is level with my chin. Hopefully, I chose the correct length. Fortunately, I only have about $170 in parts invested.

    Windshield Alternative

I didn’t want to pay full pop for a windshield design I really didn’t care for, so I made my own. I used Rockes V2 brackets and a Madstad shield (undrilled) for a Tiger Explorer and ended up with this: Rockes brackets by Hec4sc posted May 29, 2018 at 4:52 PM Rockes brackets by Hec4sc posted...
