Running Rich (the bike, not me) & Faltering Idle

OK, here's the deal...over a stretch of 300-400 miles, mostly back and forth to work, I noticed my fuel mileage began to drop. During this period of time the idle began to go lower and rougher, until it reached the point where I had to keep the rev's up when I stopped, otherwise, it would stall...

    Disaster in Bardstown, Kentucky

So, so, sad. I'm going down to help with cleanup. Anyone care to join me? Thousands of bourbon barrels come crashing down in distillery collapse

    Replacement Key Blanks

FYI, if you want to get inexpensive replacement keys for your Rocket, look for ILCO X270 key blanks which any locksmith should have. $2.50 per cut key. P.S. Please don't ask me why I have extra keys made.

    Usable Fuel Tank Capacity

In the 11+ years I've had my Rocket I've never run out of fuel. That being said, I was wondering if anyone has determined the maximum amount of fuel that can be drawn out before she coughs to a stop?

Fog/Driving Light Bulb Replacement, how the bloody hell...

I have the factory fog/driving lights on my Rocket. 11-years later one bulb has begun giving me flat-line moments, so I want to replace it. It appears as though the hot wire is integral to the bulb, and, ultimately part of the fog/driving light wire harness? Any image of an H3 bulb shows a...

    Bleeding Cooling System

I asked this question 75,000 miles ago, but no one had an answer, so I'm asking this question again at 80,000 miles. Ever since the "Triumph Upgrade" my bike refuses to maintain any coolant in the coolant recovery tank. It never overheated, nor has it ever been run too hot. But it will...

    Kill switch, or not?

What is the consensus for using the Kill Switch to shut down the bike? Some say it's not good...others say it's no problem. Please be kind enough to state the logic behind your answer. Thanks in advance.

    Old grumpy owner

Longtime owner, spent most of my time on the .com site. Figured I'd broaden my horizons a bit, 'til I get thrown out. It's always good to meet new people.

    Speedo Healer

I thought this was an interesting find...I never liked having to choose one over the other for accuracy. This unit looks like it would settle that argument. Anyone else ever purchased one or know of one being used? Another thing to add to the wish list.

So I think me TPS is going...

Riding along following Mrs. Wolf on her feisty Rebel, when I begin to realize that my bike suddenly has lost its decel engine braking. And the idle floats to 1500+/-. TPS beginning to flake out, right?

    R3 Specs

These kinds of questions always seem to come up, so I thought it might be a good idea to post these. They're just the specs/capacities/torques, etc.

    Stebel Air Horn

This time of the year is the perfect time to play with the girl, and dress her up. My first addition is the Stebel air horn. Here’s a sound clip comparing the two horns. Click on this image to hear the comparison...can you tell which is which? My digital camera was...

    Rivco Engine Guard/Kuryakyn pegs

Eardison, here are some pics of my set up. I'm 6'1" w/32 inch inseam...230 pounds (yeah, fat ***cer, I know). I have the Triumph dual seat w/backrest. On my "down souther" run last month they made for a perfect ride. I was able to place my feet on the pegs, which have a wide surface, and...

    Forward Controls

Hello Eardison...welcome to the forum. Don't recall anyone posting anything about forward controls, but there's plenty of examples of rear controls. You're gonna' like them Rivco bars...nice and stout. Standard seat with backrest isn't so bad...most comfort will be gained with sheepskin...

    10,000 mile valve clearance check

The developing trend seems to be that very few bikes have needed any shims for the valves.

    Transmition

I wouldn't say it's common, but it has happened before. It's been discussed that one could get a skewed sense of quality 'cause people are quick to post bad things, but not good things. My two cents.
