  1. Nitrous set up

hi there, sorry it took a while to give an answer, not on here that often (really busy) I can only say that the word I got was to put the nozzle in the filter box (pre filter) I have run mine through to top grille(on the filterbox),this may well not be the optimum,as I have not really had time to...
  2. Rev Limiter Question

...based on Tuneboys findings (which I`m sure are well researched) there occurs a random fuel cut ,followed by a total fuel and ignition cut (thus the soft effect) . I have hit the limiter many, many times and even soft ones are a bloody pain . It may well cut the injector signal then the pump...
  3. Rev Limiter Question

 actually,I`ve had a re-think ,and will probably have to bite the bullet and get an rpm controller to cut it before the limiter ,be safer. Nevertheless,I would be interested to know ,if anyone has looked into this at all .
  4. Rev Limiter Question

Does anyone know which fuel pump circuit ( ie does it cut the power or earth) gets cut when the rev limiter hits ? I know that it is a "soft "type ,that intially cuts the injection signal sporadiacally, then steps it up to a total fuel cut and most probably ignition as well. Short of hooking up...
  5. Nitrous set up

...yep I like blower systems also , actually bought a kawasaki z1rtc when they first came out in `79 .Kept it for many years, great fun. This is going to cost a lot less a LOT less than a turbo or supercharger .Probably around $1400 nz ,bearing in mind I`ve added a lot more to it,but been lucky...
  6. Nitrous set up

good on you bob :D ,much as I really like the rocket ,I am quite frankly bike crazy and admire someone who buys/rides whatever he likes and is proud to do so. :D
  7. Nitrous set up

Thanks psydone,I really appreciate that.Next time my daughter is around I`ll get her to take some photos.
  8. Nitrous set up

Psydone jumped up and down and said post something ,so briefly for those who may be interested here is what I have done so far (sorry no pics ,don`t have the means). Firstly thanks to Lofty for his inspiration to do this . My setup is a bit different, partly due to financial constraints and...
  9. Well its happend some one has been seriously hurt because of the stalling and idle

I`ve had it happen a couple of times a while back also ...whilst being a bit leisurely between lower gear shifts ,it stalled did the good ol`lock up /slide ...just a matter of clutching /hitting the starter and turning a slide into a wheelspin /wheelie:) ..but yep,I agree with Tom...the issue...
  10. Idling: non electronic causes

.... just with regard to the temp sensor terminals ,that happened well over year ago and whilst it ran fine since,it did suffer idle problems later on(i.e. more than one fault ) :!:
  11. Idling: non electronic causes

The thing is with this fault is that for many of us it is speculative,as we are basing our judgements on posted symptoms without a troublesome bike to apply the theories to .There is also the possibility of more than one common cause (not the mention the seemingly random ones... e.g. my...
  12. Rocket III production dates vs Idle problems

by that Tom , I assume that you do want to include ones that have had (but are presently sorted) a fault ?:)
  13. More Idle Issues

Hello gentlemen .I just want to add my voice to this one. I don`t presently have an idle problem, though I have in the past .From someone in the trade ,I think that thusfar Tomo`s fix is the best option ,however it is ,as I`m sure Tom will agree not satisfactory that we as owners should be trying...
  14. gear selector problem

I would not be describe this as a common fault, but it has occurred before.I suggest you approach your dealer.Hope you get it sorted.
  15. TURBO

sounds great Buckets , good on you !. I`ve got a fairly recent "rapid bikes"mag with a turbo R1 ,I think it may have been done by the same guys who did your bike. Any chance there might be a spread on the rocket ? That would be brilliant
  16. Power Lines

    - I said some ,Jethro ,not all.Oh and Indy ...the Daytona 675 (what other is there ?? ). Anyway,I`ve tossed in my two cents,I`ll leave it at that.
  17. Power Lines

Indy mate, I don`t wish to be rude ,but of course they are very different, that was the whole point.A shaft driven bike (as I would have hoped we all knew) , has a GREATER power loss through the drive train ( don`t see too many gp/ sports bikes with a shaft !! ) sooooo the rocket is bound to have...
  18. Power Lines

geeez louise ...to that degree ??? Of course there are differences ,even a Cossack Ural wouldn`t have that much variation :P Consider this : the new 675 loses 16.5% of it`s ponies through it`s chain drive...anyway the real neat part about the rocket is it`s torque and how little it loses of...
  19. Gear Sensor Resistor Install - Help

Hi .I actually thought it was a black /pink wire (from memory) but it may well change to black purple after the plug.It is certainly not the black white (neutral switch),so it will be the black purple (which feeds back to the ecu) you need to connect this to a good earth(battery neg is...
  20. Power Lines

..oh yeah...and hey Jethro , for what it`s worth , I actually think that your figures sound pretty well right (though the triple filter increase is a bit of a surprise ).Think about it though...the tors and jardines really do add a cosiderable amount (I`m sure we all agree on that )..I would...
