  1. This rain is driving me nuts.

Roll on spring & feeling the sun on my back You bet! Wet snow and sleet, and the bike dripping in condensation in the shed are NOT what I want! Now if a Rocket was steam-powered it would at least be cosy to sit on..........who's got the best welsh steam coal then?? Might need to be a trike...
  2. Rocket owners average age!

Over 60 in body. a lot less in spirit! And after 7000miles over a good summer on the Roadster I feel even younger all over!
  3. Long Haul Seat with Rider Backrest

I've just bough a secondhand Classic seat but it doesn't quite fit straight on my 2010 Roadster. The rear separate pillion mounting bracket is about 10mm too long , so the "spike" for the click-on seat catch is 10mm too far back for the seat hole. I'm about to re-drill the 3 front holes for the...
  4. Classic seat on Roadster?

Thanks guys. some hope then! Kipper - I'm in Blairgowrie , just north of Perth, bike's still on the road too so maybe I could take you up on your offer , or a look at your bike anyway to see what your seat is like? Can you send me a message via this site? cheers
  5. Classic seat on Roadster?

Hi all I'm still trying to make my roadster more comfortable for her on the back, as even with Hagons the bike still kicks hard over bumps through the standard pillion seat. Triumph dealer Jack Lilley in England says Triumph list the Classic seat as fitting the Roadster, but he had no dimensions...
  6. From Norwich, UK

Here's what I've got -old Oxford soft throwovers, stiffened with plywood inner sides bolted to the Easybrackets. And an Ortlieb 24L roll bag across the rack. Takes 5 min to remove it all, if that. Or you could fit any hard cases as long as the back is flat (ish)
  7. From Norwich, UK

I take my wife out all the time on the R3, she doesn't like a backrest just a sissy bar, but then I do just cruise when she's there - and that's the Rocket's forte - no gearchanging, dead smooth even from 1200rpm 2-up and loaded. We went to Ardnamurchan last weekend and back in the day...
  8. From Norwich, UK

I think my Roadster engine will outlive me, it's like an old Fergie tractor really, everlasting! I've only done 20k miles on my first Rocket , since 2010, and have to say the matt black paint isn't very tough. The front of my bike , incl the front of the tank , is stonechipped badly. It kinda...
  9. looking at a new Roadster 2013

Pete - I've done 20,000m on my 2010 roadster and no probs so far.:) Did the Tune ecu re-map to open things up a bit with Tors at 5,000m now it sounds and goes a lot better:eek: I've been riding for 40+ years too so go for it and enjoy while you can! And it's lighter than a Classic (by a few Kg...
  10. Kuryakyn Floorboards for Passenger

I used the 4357 boards with 8808 splined mounts - there's my post and pics on the Roadster forum a couple of weeks ago - working fine.
  11. R3 Roadster purchase

Well Dawg you've picked the best cruiser in the business imho, my Roadster's the only bike i've ridden that will pull away two-up from 1000rpm in top gear smooth as anything. - all the way to silly speeds pdq Forget gearchanging and enjoy the scenery. And hills don't exist anymore as far as this...
  12. Roadster pillion footboards

I've been looking for black footboards for the pillion on my r3r as my wife has trouble with dodgy knees, and was finding balancing on the standard footrest while getting on and off a bit risky. I found these Kuryakyn ones, which fit fine and have adjustable mounts fore and aft,(5 positions)...
  13. Rear shocks on r3r

I went for Hagon Nitros and after 5000miles use they are better that the original Roadster ones, but not as good as I'd hoped. After setting the static sag at 15mm and playing with the damping I think I've got them set up as well as I can. Hagon will fit springs for your weight and are good to...
  14. hello

You don't have to go to the gym - just get on the bike and use it - best portable gym you'll ever find! but not in the snow.... And don't anyone say it's 80degrees and hot where you are just now ....£~'&%$$£**
  15. hello

Hi Stuart glad to see another Roadster taking to the roads here! I've done nearly 20000m on mine now and never been south of the border. Only seen two other matt black ones around though in two years. You'll love it once you get out on empty roads but not today its minus 2C here in Perthshire...
  16. front suspension

I got this info leaflet from Maxton recently if it helps you decide - I don't know if it applies to all R3 models but I don't find my Roadster springs too soft - more the opposite
  17. Roadster Rear Wheel Removal

...and remember to polish the alloy while the wheel's out - or powdercoat it like Triumph should have done!
  18. A little help please...

Well done there sir! Now you just need to hang off further to get it round corners faster. Kiss the mirrors and counter steer it - great fun! Luckily I had someone to sort the maps for me :D
  19. Quick Release Sissy Bar for the Roadster

These brackets look great Nox, I have Easy brackets for my Roadster pannier bags and they work really well, so if your idea works as well as these it'll be perfect. If you're prepared to make the drawings available I can get some made up locally, as I guess it would be dear to buy the...
  20. Sparking Titanium Draggers

yes why not seand, mine on the roadster are scraped away now anyway so it'll be a change to have something to freak out the tin box brigade with. I was going to get a bit of scrap Ti and dowel it on to the remains anyway, but if yours aren't too dear I'll go for it. I was going to do another...
