    Soft rear brake after recall

It hasn't been very long since I had the rear master cylinder recall done and it's already back to the soft pedal again on first pump. It pumps up quicker and hasn't failed, but I don't think the air intrusion problem has been fully resolved. Just be sure to pump them up real good, like you...

Found_ Looking for Part Number for rear GT seat bumpers_Found

Help, I'm trying to find a part number for the rear rubber bumpers that keeps the pillion section of the seat off the fender. I found a schematic that showed the front two bumpers with a different number from the rear two bumpers on the stock GT seat. I'm missing one of the rear ones after my...

Making love in a hot afternoon

The KTM 1290 SDGT was ready for fresh oil. Man it was so hot in the garage I had to hold the funnel at arms length to keep sweat out... The fresh oil is already warm before run in. 🥵

    Rear drive running hot?

I've noticed the last few rides the rear drive unit is so hot I can't hold my hand on it but a few seconds. It has only been a few hundred miles since the annual service was done. The one where the engine was two complete quarts low of oil. Wasn't even on the dipstick. Remember that. Anyway...

    TomTom to the Rocket 3GT

I usually run 10 to 20 years behind any new tech so just now exploring gps devices. Being a skeptical owner with the limited fuel range it is reassuring to know where the next gas station is or the nearest repair shop. So looking for something motorcycle friendly I decided on trying the TomTom...

TRIK Custom Motorcycle Parts rear fender

Got the matte dark gray rear fender to see if it helps keep things cleaner and dry. Shipping from trikstore.uk was fast and all the hardware was included. It took less than an hour to fit and finish. I'd like to think an Exedra Max would fit.

    Go on, squeeze them puppies...

I like them Grip Puppies. They give a bigger, softer grip and helps to dissipate the heated grips. Odd thing the left heated grip on the GT is shorter than the throttle grip. I trimmed it to fit, then ended using the trim piece between the mirror and grip.

Another place to watch for problems

While detailing my R3GT yesterday I noticed missing weatherstripping at the bottom front of the windscreen cowl. On further inspection it is missing almost 3 inches of the welting allowing rain, sand, and bugs (I found an almost whole dragonfly that had found its way in). I cleaned out all of...

One year review, Happy or Not

Today is my one year anniversary with my new Rocket 3GT. Not much to say about it. I haven't even seen it since mid October when I put it in for repairs. Seems they have admitted it was assembled incorrectly from the factory. So after taking it apart several times and replacing thousands of...

    cabin fever

Just a week of ice and freezing temps is enough for me. I don't see how you guys up north stand it. Monday looks to be 70f so time to bust the cabin fever and zip up. Guess the KTM 1290 Super Duke GT will be on call since the new Rocket 3GT is still in the shop going on four months now. Fuel up...

    Making the new bike fit

Since I had to get another performance machine to ride this little 2017 KTM 1290 Super Duke GT fit the bill. Besides changing out the risers for a set of 1" back and up, I needed a little more leg room. I wasn't quite fond of the bend in my knees with the stock setup so I went with these lowered...

    Lemon Law Rockets

My new Rocket 3GT is the worst purchase of a new vehicle I have ever made. It was defective from day 1 and Triumph continues to ignore me or the problems on these newer models. Any one else getting this same response from their dealer and Triumph? Let's speak up and get something done before...

Gas cap won't open at all

The gas cap just spins now and won't open. Clicks proper when tightening up. Key locks it down, unlocks it, and then it spins and spins but won't unthread out of the bung with key in or out. Range down to 17 miles sitting at the pump and no where to put the nozzle. I'm trying to love my new...

Mid control adjustment question with Quick Shift

I decided to get the mid controls and was wanting to know about the mid controls up/down adjustment with Quick Shift I guess it would be the same as the R model with the shift assist. Anyway, does the sensor have to be reset in the ecu after moving the controls up or down for a better fit? I...

    Rocket hauler

Well I finally broke down and got a trailer to haul a bike. I've always ridden everywhere and had no use for a trailer unless I broke down and needed a lift. But I was younger too. And tolerated the heat better. Anyway, I wanted something small enough to tow behind the Jeep. I looked and looked...

    Quick Shift question

I'm looking at the Quick Shift and see it is model specific on one part of it. I'm guessing the length of the rod is different depending on forwards or mid controls. So if you have mids on a GT should order the R specific kit to work with them. Right?

    Full rear mudguard

Has anyone tried this full rear fender/mudguard from Trik Custom Motorcycle Parts? I'm thinking this would help tremendously with how much mud and road grime there is from the exposed tire. I wish they had some pictures from other angles...
