So I like so many others opt'ed for factory o-rings, I got all giddy and swaped them out last night, I'm sad to report I have the same but slightly lessend problem and the bike just runs like crap until 3500 rpmspiting missing backfiring. it has a custom map that was done by the first owner when...
Need a little help, As I feared after pulling the injectors and having them cleaned the #1 now spits back past the injector looks like new o-rings.
Does anyone know what size they are?
I will start searching threads in the meantime.
Btw I dont think corona can infect you if you are crusing at 60mph+
So I pulled the injectors and had them cleaned, ordered a new regulator do to the fact that at 6 psi it was dumping presure back into the tank.
That gave me a chac=nce to clean the tank out.
I should have the new regulator in a couple of days, I will keep you posted on the outcome.
I do have a...
So I pulled the injectors actually not that big of a deal, once all the air plenums are out, getting to the rail was not a big deal, the toughest part is the farthest rear screw requires a right angle driver and that the stupid Allen bolts that hold one of the plenums are non ferrous so the...
So here is the update, I pulled the fuel pump assembly(pain in but) making sure to not destroy the sending unit float, all hoses where looking pretty rotten, pulled the pump checked pressure 40+ psi all good added filter still all good hooked up regulator and hosed down the work bench not so...
Good call, I just looked it up nominal fuel pressure is 3.0 bar or 43 lbs psi.
Think i might have found the problem, i think i've got a high pressure pump and regulator I can pull to test.
Will keep you posted.
Yes to pulling the tank, my hope when pulling the rail was that it was full of bad fuel, wasn't sure how long it would take to push all that bad fuel through the injector.
I'm apprehensive to break any seal that's 15 years old, it just means waiting for said seal to arrive and the crazy cost to...
Well the bad news is that I pulled the fuel ling off the rail looks like it makes about 6lbs of pressure for about 5 second when key goes on and looks clean and a good flow, I'm guessing it only does a short run until engine starts?
Wondering if anyone has pulled injectors without pulling carbs...
The previous owner did say the person he bought it from had done a cat delete, but with fuel injection I don't know why you would pull the O2 sensors unless the fuel injection doesn't rely on them for its maping.
Good call, it dawned on me after I posted thatI hadn’t even checked the output of the fuel pump, I will give it a test when I get back home. thanks for the input.
BTW does this bike use O2sensors? I don’t see any in the pipes.
I am the proud owner of an 05 r3 with only 10k on it, I just bought it from the 2nd owner who let it sit for over a year without riding it.Needless to say the fuel was junk and she wouldn't start.
The road so far:
1 drain the tank fill with sacrificial fuel drain, replace the spark...
