Question about Noise while releasing clutch

The manual says to line up the 2 teeth on the flywheel that have the marks before inserting the locking pin to lock the crankshaft. I think it’s a waste of time to try to get those exact teeth since I'm not doing valave adjustments so any 2 teeth should do.

Question about Noise while releasing clutch

I'm starting to think that the dealer actually never did anything other than taking the cover off. The mechanic there said he doesn't remember taking the center nut and whole clutch out which is apparently necessary according to the first shop I called. After removing the 3 tension bolts and...

Question about Noise while releasing clutch

So I called the Triumph shop that got in there before and they said that they did not mess with the center nut only the 3 bolts holding the plates in. I will go back to it this weekend and update as I go.

Question about Noise while releasing clutch

It probably would have by now, both times the dealer messed with it the noise was gone for 600mi and then returned. They never replaced anything though.

Question about Noise while releasing clutch

The shop I called said that the rocket clutch is basically backwards from a normal clutch and yes one has to remove it to replace the plates. Also the center nut is 30mm, not 22 as it claims. What is the suggested clutch service interval? I'm almost thinking to just deal with that occasional...

Question about Noise while releasing clutch

Yeah I found that video last night now I just need to learn how to properly de-stake and the stake that nut. I'll likely wad a bunch of rags around the area to prevent damage if the chisel slips. There are a couple of minor dings in there already either from the factory installation or when the...

Question about Noise while releasing clutch

I'll go back to it soon enough, removing the entire clutch does not make any sense just to replace the plates. I'm going to call a couple of different Triumph shops tomorrow and ask their service department. Either way I have all the parts no matter what.

Question about Noise while releasing clutch

I'll have to look into it further, manuals tend to have you taking apart way more stuff than necessary. I need to make sure that I'm looking at the clutch plate replacement section rather than how to dismantle the entire clutch.

Question about Noise while releasing clutch

The manual talks about de-staking the center nut. Is that necessary to just replace the plates?

And so it begins. Removing the radiator was slow going since I've never done this but actually pretty simple

    Rear Brake Pad Recommendation?

OEM pads for me front and rear. No reason to skimp trying to save a few bucks for as long as they actually last. I just did my front and the only thing I cleaned was the rotor with a scotchbrite pad. Slapped it back together and as good and quiet as before.

That's what I'll get for the future then. I did order the OEM stuff this time but with shipping 3x 1L bottles came to $53 on ebay, yikes.
