I've not had any luck getting in touch with Carpenter racing so I was wondering if anyone has had luck with a different baffle for their exhaust?

I did find where someone mentioned a Samson model they were going to try but I never was able to find installation info on here or their site.

Thanks guys!

I fitted a Samson A161....It requires cutting a little off the end as it's too long..
The carpenter baffle just didn't look right.
I've never installed any baffles on my bikes so I don't have any experience installing them haha the only ones I've had experience with at all are ones from Harleys in the past and they're a different style.

Did you cut some off the cone end or the opposite end? Did it come with any instructions? I haven't seen a good video on installing this kind so I'm trying to avoid any unnecessary headaches!

Yes you would need to trim the cone...No there are no instruction supplied..

I will take some photos later today if that will help..

That would be much appreciated! Did you get satisfactory results? The fact that you recommended it says yes but I was just curious if it was one of those "and I'd do it again" items.

In the photo the top baffle is from Carpenter...The other is the Samson..
The Samson fits inside the exhaust around 4 or 5 inches..As you can see in the photo most of the cone has been removed..

Hope this helps you..

Thanks ant! I saw where a some people had noise issues with the upstream side with rattling. Did you use a wrap to help with that or just the baffle?

I've also seen several that said the one set screw wasn't enough. Did you add any to yours?

No i didn't use any wrap but like you say that would help...
I don't have any rattling noise and the one fixing screw was enough..
To be honest it's takes a while to fit.....Cut a little at a time until you get a snug fit..
