An 05 with 3k miles? I think you hit the lottery. All kidding aside, I have an 05 and it ran trouble free till it hit 41k and the stator went out (and fixed it), other than that I'm still riding it. Best of luck.

There were a number of updates to the cogs in the box, torsional damper bearings, clutch basket, clutch lifter piece/pullrod and release bearing and pressure plate, camchain guides, headlight bypass, probably a few others I've forgotten.

You can check your VIN here to see if there are any outstanding recalls on your bike.

You'll want to add an Eastern Beaver headlight relay to get the headlight power out of the ignition switch barrel and have your headlights powered directly from the battery. Doesn't affect any switch functionality (high/low beam), just removes the lunatic power routing from the factory that causes ignition switch barrel failures.

Thanks guys I will defo do the EB relay for the headlights. Being new to the rocket I may have googled them to much and made me nervous but as the bike was only drove for two years and parked in a garage with no windows I may have more problems to worry about

Nice find👍
At this stage its got a clean bill of health just go out and enjoy it it's only just been run in
She definitely needs some TLC

Take care for your transmission shaft, always nicely lubricating. An old Guzzi recommendation, 10% "
Molycote A Dispersion" in your palloid gearbox oil (by no means in the motor oil). When changing gears make it nicely in a ordered manner. Bearings are sensitive (I have a tuned Roadster R3). Once I had an Issue with the clutch basket, service repaired it. Up to now 23000 miles, no other issues.

You'll want to check your wheel bearings, flush brake fluid, change air filter, lube cables, change oil and filter, pull the clutch lever in and tie-wrap it for a week (take pressure off the clutch basket and allow some oil to the pressure plates), and then the fun starts with finding out what's rotted off the bike.
