Triumph shift kit for 2.5L

I don’t know how the Triumph QS works but for BMW and others in general, you have to close the throttle to down shift. This allows the QS to know how much to blip the throttle to rev match.
Not so for Triumph. Hold the throttle in any position and shift it. Actually I’m not certain that it does work with a closed throttle position, I’ll have to try it. I just think if you are going to close the throttle you might as well clutch it too.

Yepp - works with a closed throttle, too. Even though I just tried this while downshifting.
It would be interesting to know if downshifting from 2nd to 1st was smoother under hard deceleration if you 1) close the throttle first or 2) hold the throttle open.

Something in the back of my mind reminds me that hard downshifting into first gear is not good for a transmission. In general I only hard downshift as far as second if need be. Then a light snick into first just before stopping. Never blown a transmission in 50+ years. Just saying as an old rider/driver/trucker.

My buddy the salesman at my Triumph dealer talked me into the quick shifter and I really didn't think It would be a worthwhile addition but once it was installed[took couple weeks to come in] I love it! 4th 5th and 6th gears shifts are like an automatic, lower gears are a bit firmer. Is it worth the money,,,,,it's like the bike itself, no one needs it but **** if I don't love it😁😂🤣
