Request advice on new brake system 2014 R3T

@Boog Bobby - if there are any crimped in T pieces etc in the lines - It is sadly fairly common for gunge to collect at the hose/metal union - especially where the manufacture is maybe not all that controlled. Maybe you remember the care with which one of @Paul Bryant brake hoses had been made. In the past I have found green-ish/brownish stuff at such unions.

A mechanic mate of mine here in Spain who learned his trade during the time of Franco when "replacing" was a big deal, put me onto an old Spanish disinfectant called ZOTAL. It is magical at removing organic goo like verdigris. Basically it is a BIOCIDE. When he (and now I) wants to clean up used parts - for example a restoration job: strip everything down - all seals out etc. Leave it to soak (check daily til it's all gone) and there will be no remnants of anything. Flush hoses after with brake fluid. Then fit and bleed etc.

If you change Brake fluid yearly - then experience would suggest the organics do not grow as fast. If you use Silicone fluids - my experience is that they simply do not appear.

The Dot4/5 thing seems to scare folk. But I have yet to have any bad experience simply replacing all seals and starting from scratch with DOT5. And my Guzzi has been running Dot5 for 35 years-ish. Has to be said I have NOT done the swap in an ABS system - yet!?

I forget which bikes for sure, but I think the Rocket and r65 for sure are dot 5, fill and forget, so far, anyway

I ran a tap in old cylinder came up with m10 x 1.25. This is available on Amazon, around $8.

Sorry I didn't get back with the information about the size. I actually edited the post with the information shortly after I made it, but apparently it didn't update. That is the size.
