Tooth alignment offset...???

Guess it's good to go... That's not not how I would view a piece of precision engineering, but then... I'm not an engineer lol
 
Yes the pins are offset. One for each cam. Not sure about your engineering view. But even when dialing cams up they are set differently. This just allows you to set both at the same time. Make sure you keep in mind chain stretch and it bedding in! So if it looks like you a half a tooth off you want it before so it stretches to being on time.

Perfect explanation so I'm fitting new chain sprockets and guides if I'm looking at bedding in would the half tooth be set at retard on the EX cam or advance

Actually I was referring to the crank shaft timing mark my thoughts are if its just before the timing marks new once it stretches or beds in then it will move towards the timing crankshaft timming mark.

No problem Warp your light years ahead of me, you know what your talking about even if I don't lol, Im just the apprentice the penny eventually drops after much mulling over, I'm like a pig in muck and thankful of any feedback I get cheers....
