Ride
14 Rocket 3 Touring
Good Evening friends ,

Hope you are safe and well . I am new to this forum and having purchased a rocket 3 touring (14) a few months ago , I find myself with a dead battery . I have been unable to ride because of the winter . I am trying to remove the seat to be able to trickle charge it . I have unfortunately run into problems . I am able to remove the rear bolt and the saddle bags via quick release . However , I am struggling to remove the left and the right bolt which will allow me to remove the main seat . I am hoping you all could suggest ways to do the same . Pictures are attached for your reference .

Regards

There are two bolts on either side. With a 6mm allen key , It is hard to reach that bolt . I was wondering if there is an easier way to do this.

Yes, they're a pain in the butt, I replaced mine with Bimini top pins, much quicker and easier.
Not this brand, I just googled up a picture, I found cheaper. Don't remember the sizes, but back and sides different sizes. There's a thread here somewhere where someone else first suggested it.

I just did this on my Touring. It was frustrating at first because the 6mm bolts were so hard to get to because the bags were in the way of getting the allen wrench in there, then I opened the tops of the hard bags. With the tops of the bags hinged out of the way it was a straight shot at the bolts. Easy Peesy!

Update : I was able to remove the bolt on the left side . The one of the right is presenting a challenge . There is a panel that comes in between . That panel is attached to the suspension assembly . Picture is attached to the comment . Thank you everyone for your prompt feedback .

If you open the pannier lids you can easily access the bolts with a long allen wrench; no need to remove the panniers each time. It's been quick for me each time. Also, once you've installed a pigtail you won't need to remove the seat each time you want to put her on a trickle charger.

...and WELCOME! to the family! ...and your new permanent Grin...:D

I don't even need a long allen wrench, I use the one that came in the tool kit. It works just fine. I do keep a small crescent wrench in my tool kit so I can tighten them properly by leveraging to allen wrench , they have loosened up in the past.
