Has anyone gotten mid controls on the pre-roadster rockets?

I'm used to having the forward controls on a 07 Standard but I feel I'd be able to do a lot more with mic controls.

Anyone know what I could use? Also, are highway pegs that much of a big deal? Considering grabbing a set too for when I travel down to the border.

@Idaho Red Rocket 3 has a pair of mid controls footrails and pegs from a 2005 Standard for sale cheap in the Classifieds and they will bolt straight onto your Classic and you can keep or sell your Classic footboard setup which is quite valuable.

H'way pegs are a must for extended days in the saddle to allow a decent range of positions.

There are good quality Triumph factory ones going very cheap less than half price on US eBay at the moment from a Triumph dealer. There were 8-9 pairs, maybe 5-6 left I think.

I posted the listing in our Classifieds as well.

Other options are cheaper but do not have range of options for fitting. You do need stock or aftermarket 1 1/4" crash tip over bars though.

The other option is RIVCO 1" h'way peg mounts that bolt to your existing 1" footrails. High quality clamping system and US made.

The model is actually for Honda 6 cylinder models with similar 1" footrails to us. Model number GL18004

Fit any pegs you like.

Ok I'm confused. Your avatar shows a early rocket standard with the OEM forward peg rails. You stated 07 Classic which has floor boards. There is someone who makes forward controls for the rocket which your fert will be almost to the radiator. What I think you are asking and calling mid controls is the Roadster peg rail set up. And the answer is yes riadster rails and pegs will fit the 07. Rear brake line might need made or modified. It has been a while since I've seen anyone with the after market rear sets. But they put you feet back about where the swing frame bolts on. The only other rear sets I've seen is what R3RTURBO did on his which I think was a kawasaki transfer.

Hope this helps

My bad, mixed up standard and classic again.

No problem, so you are then looking for the roadster peg rail set up?
I am, but I'm not sure if I'm ok with having to modify the brake line. I'm not finding the current setup that bad. Just a bid odd when leaning over. Especially because I'll scrape my boots or peg on the road every now and then.

Yep a European aftermaket maker now retired I think was RAASK who made Rearsets for R3 which I think some found OK and others not so great. Pretty rare and I have never seen any.

RAASK rearsets

Fitting Raask rearsets - How I did it...

OP stated the quality of these was very crappy - see details below.

These classic style rearsets come with epoxy painted alloy mounting plates and are equipped with brass bearings and rose jointed links, they are supplied with fittings and mounting bolts where required.

    - especially stable
    - durable
    - custom-fit
    - easy to install

The simple, simple and factual design have made them one of the most widely distributed footrest systems ever.

RAASK also made a set of even rarer adjustable foot rails for the R3 to allow peg placement over a wide range of adjustment. I finally found some last year.
What are the rarest Unicorn accessories for Rockets? I want to see them all!

I have a new set of these Rizoma ones with custom made CNC alloy billet Rocket 3 mounts too.

A great quality Rizoma PE112B Install guide to match their product https://www.carpimoto.com/Images/Products/Pdf/PE112_Rev03.pdf.

I have a set of custom adapted Italian Rizoma PE112B FZ1 '06-'15 Yamaha ones that the infamous and now sadly deceased blastedbones had on his Carpenterised R3.

They have CNC alloy billet adapters with castellated fittings to match the R3 frame and rear Brembo brake hose/piston/cylinder/bracket, carbonfiber heel guards, folding peg adapters PE-606A etc. They have a couple of tiny scuffs on one of the CNC billet adapters I plan to polish smooth but the mechanical linkages etc are perfect and I bought a replacement set of Rizoma B-PRO PE616A pegs and a brake toepeg PE624A for them so they will look as new.

These Rizoma sets are now discontinued and it must have cost a fortune to get the adaptors machined up. I just like looking at them and admiring the engineering and finish.

I have a few sets of new Foot and gear/brake pegs too.

I've seen guys go to a brake shop and have them whip up a line. Mostly rubber worked out great and they sent the standard rail line to the guys who bought the rails. If your dragging yours to much. The 240/55/16 exedra max tire is taller that will help especially if your still running the 150 tire in the front.. If yours has the original shocks you might want to getter a better set which also can be ordered longer. Then well at best dtock spring sah and really sag on entrance to the curve. Anyway just some ideas that might help. And your roadster peg rail set up is a darn good idea. It just depends on how much creeking sound you make in the knee joints :)
