The engineers know!

When I bought what was left of my CBR600F2 I picked the brains of a buttload of folks on their forum site. A lot of fellas were buying up the later F3 rims to convert up to a 200 series tire. Mine was already set up that way and handled decently. After reading all I could I decided to go back to the thinner F2 rim and the 180 (stock) size rear.
WOW! The bike went from handling decent to being the most flickable thing on the canyon. I can even pass inside my buddy on his Ducati 999 in a tight sweeper. If the scoot came with 240 tire, there's a reason for it. (get power to the ground?) if it came with a 180, there was probably a reason for that too. Besides, nobody is going to be able to tell the difference with the naked eye so if it doesn't improve performance, or look cooler why spend the money?

In vino, veritas!

What would be the purpose for the extra 20mm? Mine as well get a 300 kit and go all the way if they even make one. But the handling would be terrible!:D

mutt
Where can you find a 300 kit? I have a 15 Roadster.
Thanks in advance brother!

Old thread revived.

You may be able to fit a wider tyres to the new Rocket by spacing the rim out further from the swingarm, but I suspect that will create a few new problems.:rolleyes::confused::whitstling:

I hear ya.
I seen a pic of a Roadster that a guy modified to take a 300. Looks amazing and really fills out the rear end complimenting the massive machine that is the Rocket 3!

Go big or stay home.

Massive 360 on custom swing arm from OZ:

A circus bike that I'm sure kills in the twisties.:roll:

Nope, this triple tree kit to fit a 240 on the front is a head scratcher too. I've only seen pictures of 3 Rockets with this mod.

And this Mad Max style with front & rear knobbies wouldn't fare well running the 3 Twisted Sisters:
