Hi all,
My first day n post comes with a direct question... I ordered a pair drag specialties 5 3/4 led headlamps for my R3R. The same headlamp comes under JW Speaker brand also as the 8620 model, manufactured by Drag specialties only. However, I was under the impression that there is lumen output and side profile thickness difference between the one sold as Drag specialties and the JW Speaker, as JW is sold as Harley specific (whil Drag Specialties is sold as universal fit). However, when I received the lights, they were exactly the same in size and dimensions as the JW speaker. Same thickness and even the LED face have JW Speaker printed on it. Now I am confused if I received the wrong product and whether these will fit my Rocket's headlamp bowls without requiring any modification??? The side profile thickness of the light is 3.87 inches. Ordered them through revzilla.com, through international shipping. Appreciated.

Hello there anyone....??? Someone????

Nice looking lights. I do not have the answer most of the LED lights I've seen were a little narrower
But then if your taking measurements at the same place it depends which side of the light the extra is on.

I will be watching this to see if they fit. Good luck.

Thanks for the prompt response. The extra is on the side profile. The front to back thickness. The one you posted is 3.54 in wide. The one i bought is 3.85 in.

Just try them on. Take the brim off, take the OEM and hardware. Save in the JW boxes for possible future needs. Try fitting the new ones. Get some tie-straps to re-secure the chrome brims. Much easier than the screws.

Great upgrade  The draw a lot less current and shine a lot more. Alling well so you don't blind oncoming or piss of whoever you are following. Drive with Lo-beams on. Save the High beams for necessary extra power. They are very brilliant and piss off other drivers.

ok I will wait until you try them as they sure look nice and closer to the ones on the 2020 rocket.
Oh and don't use tie straps zip ties or any other crap like that, it would be like running a car tire :)
Just go buy some longer screws if your having problems with the OEM ones.

Thanks for the info... Will do as advised. Thanks a ton

The ONLY potential issue I can think of is the rear width. The early 8630 would NOT fit directly in the R3 headlight Buckets without

1) Moving the bucket mounting brackets to the outside of the shell
2) Modifying a set of "Frenching Rings".

I did Option 2.

But the 8630 was not expected to be fitted into bikes. And J.W.Speaker have come a LONG way since then.

For comparison the 8630 spec's.

They are nice looking lights. I have some leds that have a Halo ring around them. Don't remember the brand. I got them on Amazon. I had to Dremel down the rear heat sinks on the sides to get them to fit.
Please do let us know how these fit. If all is good I think I'll order a set. The pair I bought look cheap, hard to describe why, they just do. The set you have look nice, as someone else pointed out, a bit like the version on the 2020.
