Chrome on front and Exedra Max on rear, big improvement over OEM tires.
This was almost the question I was researching, I’m putting a cobra on the rear and have excedra max on front and have found not much info on plys for the cobra, but with your big improvement over oem comment I feel ok now keeping the max up front as I’m sure you’ve tested the grip with this combo. Both radial of course but different ply makeups gave me pause, the max is new so I’m going for it and I do mean going for it.

I mounted them on my own replacing the Metzlers with the Cobra Chrome tires on my R3T back in October. Have put about 4k miles on them since. It was my first time doing them myself and not bad at all. I just used all the tools and followed the process in this video from Motorcyclist Magazine:

Tools were less than $200 total and essentially paid for themselves in that one change due to local charges at the shops just for mounting (silly East Coast prices). Only thing to really keep in mind is having the bead wet with soapy water when working it over the rim. I used soapy water and not Windex. Was concerned the ammonia of the windex would dry the rubber. The shops use soapy water anyway.

Next year I plan on trying out Dark siding now that I feel like a pro at busting tires off the rim.
i spent 2.99 in parts well plus 29.99 but I will never do it again, I felt like William Wallace when I got done. Tires 1 Kevin 0 but I gotten done and didn’t give up, but never again

just b4 xmas i had a new exedra max fitted on the rear...50 bucks...got to watch too...so easy for those guys when they have the correct equipment and are doing it every day.
I definitely agree with that, breaking that bead I had to break bad with straps, jack , wood oh it got dangerous, did I mention it was 105 in Nashville, well it felt like it, I’m with you tal, to the shop! Just the rims though, cause I’m a wrencher lol

Ok so you've got the tire changed in your own garage, now what do you do for having it balanced?

Ok so you've got the tire changed in your own garage, now what do you do for having it balanced?
I took it to Howard’s Honda and they balanced, that’s how I did it, but some guys add bead thingys not me though I like the little weight things they add that just stick on after they spin it up, oh some guys have a balancer in garage little stand deal and they to add weights little sticky thingys

This will work to if you actually want to do your own tires, some do, me never gain, can’t imagine a 240:eek: weights are cheap
