Took a Rocket R for a spin today

Just sat on one today in a mc store.
The salesman even started it up and showed me all the electronic gadgets it had.
They are selling them for $29990 (aussie dollars)
The next one, more pillion friendly version (GT) should be in their shop next month, selling for $1000 more.
I can see one problem they will have to fix soon. The radiators are mounted close to the ground with no guarding on the front wheel to protect them from rocks ect. It does have a protection screen in front of the radiator but I don't think it will hold up to repeatedly being pelted with rocks.
Looking at the old 2300cc Rocket, it has a guard stopping most rocks flying off the wheel hitting the radiator. It also sits much higher off the ground.

Looking good Mittzy. I'm jealous.

You're jealous.....what about ME???

So how does this new Rocket compare with the oder style Rocket stick to stock?
And I wonder how it would copaire with both that have up graded cams and pistons and exhaust and K&N filters and tunes?
Very nice you look good on it.

I like it - turns in very well and is nimble - torque is smooth - a well refined bike IMHO
Also told my TFC had arrived today - just got to get my $ organized :thumbsup::thumbsdown:

I seen your post on farce book. (Streetfighterish) I'm curious as to your opinion on how low the radiator is and its OEM protection. Oh and some close up pictures would be nice :) not of your grin we all know what thats like :D

I went to the local Triumph shop yesterday and sat on the GT. I really like everything about it. The seat supports your rear end and upon hard acceleration should hold you firmly in place although at 5'9" 185 lbs the seat was a good fit and almost snug. I think our 'larger' Captains may find it a little too snug. I noticed my boys were close to sitting on the tank. Just an observation.

I can’t wait to see these in person. I don’t think it will be a small bike. More athletic looking but not little.

I’m sure you’ll love it!...it’s just different...conceptually. I just saw the 2020 Kawasaki Z900 ( 1970s this model began my love affair with big bikes) well it’s just nothing even similar to the original Z900 and that’s the analogy I guess.
