Mustang seat on roadster

Hi all seen this mustang seat with backrest on a roadster not sure how this is possible as they dont make a seat for a roadster has anyone seen this before or know how it was done thankyou

I haven't personally dealt with mustang seats, but as long as you can provide the original seat tin you can have any seat made to your liking.

I spoke to the Customer Service rep years ago about ordering a seat for a Classic. She told me that they don't make a seat for the Rocket and don't intend to. I guess it was the way she said it that really put me off, like I was an idiot for even asking.

While I have purchased used Mustang seats on line since then, and believe them to be great seats (I've had four-one new) I will never purchase a new one again. Jerks

my r3t had been equipped with similar mustang seat before i bought it. can confirm it is very comfortable

Hi all ive since found out the mustang seat in the previous photo was custom made by the person who owned the bike i guess he ordered 1 for a touring model and changed it to suit the roadster be a nice seat but alot of work

You could do the same with a factory R3T Bucket Solo upholstery and padding onto a factory R3R Rider's Solo seat base. Pull the staples swap over and trim/adjust before re-stapling and upholstery shop should be able to do it easily as the shapes and materials are quite close. Biggest issue could be changes in ride height as the R3T MAY be deeper with lower height frame rails to rest on.

I would have to check as there are multiples of all known Rocket 3 seat types breeding hybrids in my shed, Turk's garage or my cupboards. When I open the shed I'm never sure when another pillion seat falls out somewhere, whether another one has whelped.

Hi ishrub that would be ok but im not sure you could put a backrest on the r3r base ive actually got a seat a9700186 that ive cut in half with the backrest fitted which isnt to bad but ive always liked the look of the mustang seat
