I didn't trust me, but thank you for being alarmed. I've already got started on the claim, going to the shop Friday to take pictures to send to them proof. So far my experience of this ordeal has been smooth.

Will update my progress as I go along, for anyone in the future who may go through the same thing.

Not wanting to be an accessory because 'I know nothing' but you should delete your post #12. Maybe I'm paranoid but you never can tell.

Well...to be clear, the "mistake" I mentioned is living in New York City itself, not by any action I personally did to the bike. NYC is full of potholes, that's why I got the insurance...because of New York.
