Hello I have a 2006 rocket 3 just started spitting and sputtering and just runs like crap unless ur under hard accel not in the gas I think run a can of sea foam with tank of prem not any better
 
Welcome from south Louisiana. Check the leads going to the coils. Clean them and squeeze the spade crimp so that it holds tighter to the male side.

Hi and welcome from Christchurch New Zealand.

I too have an 06 and had this problem a month or so back and was 200 miles from home. I new it was the spade terminals on the coils.

I could of fixed it on the side of the road but managed to get home when I kept to the posted speed.

But have only riden it once since and it ran fine.
 
Welcome. I chased that issue for a couple years, it was a bad coil in the end

mine has run bad several times and all i did was spray the linkage and the stepper motor with wd 40. then (without running) wot then let the throttle fly shut a few times.
also runs bad when the sun shines on a full tank of gas.:(
