WHEEL BEARINGS - THE DOPE

Let's clear all this up once and for all.

The front wheel uses 2 bearings, both are #2 in the fiche: ID=20mm (0.785") - OD=47mm (1.85") - WIDTH=20.6mm (0.81")

The rear wheel uses 3 bearings, one is the same as the front:
#3 in the fiche is ID=20mm (0.785") - OD=47mm (1.85") - WIDTH=20.6mm (0.81")
#7 in the fiche is ID=20mm (0.785") - OD=47mm (1.85") - WIDTH=14mm (.55")
#18 in the fiche is ID=25mm (0.95") - OD=62mm (2.44") - WIDTH=17mm (0.667")

I do not trust the OEM or foreign made as I have puked my rear wheel bearings twice so far (20K miles each set).
I
currently have over 30K on my third set (fingers crossed).
The front is still on the OEMs at 72K miles!
I shall soon replace all wheel bearings with American Made - period!

I do NOT trust Amazon to know what works (or doesn't) on a machine. With all their $billions, the people who know how to do that, are perhaps working for Mr. Bezos at Blue Origin.

I've purchased a number of items from Amazon against that warning. Just sayin'

Paul,
I would never trust my ass to Amazon cheap, who knows where manufactured, wheel bearings of any kind!
Just sayin' . . .

I've used All Balls on different bikes Paul and they are a high quality bearing. They available on Amazon and many other sources.

All Balls Front Wheel Bearing Kit 25-1558 for Triumph Rocket III on Amazon
All Balls use to be made in the United states. The last set i bought for the Rocket were made in China. Did some research on that and found that All-Balls had negotiated a new contract with China. Sent the expensive junk back with a two word note.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: Yes they do make a set with seals for late model Roadsters. You have to go to their website and look them up. Now about American made bearings. There are commercial shops that make bearings for industries. Contact one and talk to them. I found such a place in Tulsa Oklahoma. Cost is not cheap but if you can either give them the proper dimensions or even better a old bearing most of the time they will work with you. Wheel bearings and neck bearings are from such a place. Takes a bit of looking but such places can be found. Expect to pay but Beats breaking down somewhere in Texas when your in a hurry to get somewhere;);););););););););)

It's tough finding US made bearings in 2019/2020. Especially without paying 3x the cost, which is why I went with Nachis.

Even buying Timken and other traditionally US made brands people are reporting getting bearings outsourced from India, Japan, Germany etc...

I have no problem with German made bearings. Replacement cam chain ordered through Truimph when i installed the new cams was German made vice the standard China made one. I payed out the nose for the wheel bearings and the neck bearings. The reason folks are getting outsourced bearings was explained in my first post. It all depends on who the company has outsourced to fabricate the bearings. Yes finding a place that actually fabricates bearings is tough nowadays in the states but it can be done.

Front & Rear Wheel Bearings for the Rocket Roadster.
Many of us have had to replace these, including myself (3 rear wheel sets so far in 53K miles).
I have finally measured out the bearings. In an attempt to help ameliorate the apparent confusion in researching & ordering these wheel bearings, I have prepared two charts:

I hope this helps . . .

That helps a lot!! thank you.

Am about to get my wheels coated and need some bearings, it is almost like you knew
