Winter is coming in the UK..Hibernation time for the rocket.

At least with snow you know where your at . It's the constant rain and biting wind that grinds my gears !
And then in summer - it's too hot!; you get sunburn etc.

Sir!. You are without any doubt an Englishman.

There is btw a company in Sheffield that has what is (ime) the absolute best wind/rain gear anywhere.
Not bike gear so you'd want protection over it on a bike. It's used by mountain rescue teams in the wetter and windier parts of the UK
Called Buffalo Systems Ltd

It's not cheap - but in winter (in the UK and Germany) you will be warm as soon as you start moving about.

The problem I find , is that the more expensive the clothing , the quicker I go through it ! I have tried it all . There is very little that can keep one warm and dry , whilst withstanding hauling 200lb lumps of stone around muddy trenches. I have a lad that works for me and I kitted him out with over £100 worth of wet weather gear .After moving 300 6inch conc blocks , his gear was in tatters . Add to that , the onslaught of hydraulic lime dust and disc cutter shrapnel and even the best quality gear disintegrates ! The answer of course is to find indoor work during the winter , altho this never quite works out . The hotter it gets , the more I find myself indoors and the colder and wetter it gets , the more I find myself outdoors . Just can't seem to get it right . Character building I call it ! :banghead:

The last few weeks have rode some pretty cold mornings. Down in the low twenties. A hour ride to work so your numb by the time you get there. Ride home different story low fifties which is nice. If i lived someplace else like a bit further north would not even think about it. Here in Oklahoma you got a set you ride. Roads are rideable. Bike was not bought to set on the pourch or to be trailered some place for a ride. It was bought to be rode period.
