For Sale Wind Deflectors-Windshield Add-On

Some time ago I made a post about some wind deflectors I fabricated that provide protection for your hands in the cold and rain. I finally have gotten around to putting together 4 complete sets of these and am offering them for sale here on the forum. I plan on making some more available in the next couple weeks if these sell and there appears to be an interest in them. The wife says I am spending too much money making them and I need to sell these before I reorder more plastic parts and clamps to make another batch. I am also going to put them on eBay in the future and perhaps try and sell a few locally, but I thought I would start here on the forum first.

Although I made them specifically for my R3T, I am reasonably certain they will work on just about any bike with a standard windshield. I am including some pictures of how the latest laser cut versions look and fit on my bike. The protective paper is still on in one of the pictures I posted and that is how they will ship. I only peeled back enough of the paper to assemble them. The stainless set screws that helps lock the rod in place, now have a brass insert to allow it to be firmly tightened down on the pivot rod.

I have ordered small shipping boxes, bought packing material, printed some instructions and am ready to ship if you are interested. You can message me if you have questions and I will give you the flat price I decided on which includes shipping to the any of lower 48 states. I have a PayPal account for payment and if you include an email address I will be more that happy to send you a .pdf file which explains a little more about them and how they install. Thanks
Hi BeDifferent,
Planning a trip in 3 weeks. Is there any way to get a set of these out to MA by that time?
Best,
steve

Hi Steve:

Just PM me @oldnewR3T or contact me at the email I setup..winddeflectors@charter.net. At the moment I have 3 of the standard versions left at $135 that I can make up and I should have material to make up the high Impact versions is a few days for $145. Both versions are tough so either will work. I ship USPS and they usually make it to people in 3-4 days. The prices include shipping in the US. When you email me, just send me an address to send a PayPal invoice to. Once I get receive payment I will pack and ship. Depending on the version, you could easily have them this week or first part of next week.

Thanks,

Phil

Hello there. İt has been 2 years from your post but I ve just seen the deflectors. I need them for my Burgman Uh 200 for hand and knee wind deflection. But I don't think you ship'em abroad.
So I thought I might do it myself if I have the clamps. Where can I find those parts which holds the plexiglass? They are perfect.

They are sold by Amazon etc. They are used to secure tent or awnings fabric on caravans etc.

Well. I have shipped a set abroad if you are willing to pay the extra for shipping. Usually around $20 more but I would have to find out. As for the clamps, they are Camco RV Awning Deflappers. Around $10 a pair (you need two sets). I now use 1/2" anodized aluminum for the rods as I was working on cutting my fingers off on the table saw trying to cut flats on solid aluminum. Hope this helps.

These info definitely will help thank you. Honestly I was not expecting a reply after two years. :)
Exchange rate is too high for me to buy in dollars for my area. Even the shipping cost is a lot for me. I ll try to figure out a different way to put them together. Thanks again.

Yup...exchange rates and shipping are a real curse for anything out of the states. It's also a curse for buying anything unless I can get it off Amazon. I have a few parts left to make up several sets but that may be the end of it. It seems like I spend more than I make as I have the material laying around for quite a while before I get my money back out of it. The 3 or 4 I have left will probably be the last batch I do. If you could form some aluminum into a 1/2" circle you could probably use that on the rod and then permanently mount the brackets you made to the windshield. You need to find the sweet spot before permanently mounting. Good luck on your project.

Do you still make the wind deflectors? And if so how much are they now for the high impact version?

I just saw your comment...My first thought was to say no, but I just looked and I have enough to make just one more set. I believe it is the high impact acrylic but don't hold me to that.
I would need to buy the clamps I was using...drill and prep them for the set screws. It looks like they are still available online with a few days to get them.
I believe I was charging $145 including the shipping to the lower 48 states. It's been so long I can't remember. I made and sold a lot of them...they do help. What is you pleasure as it would be about week before I could make and ship them.

Phil
