1min 37 secs in he says he gets one run out of a set of tyres and probably has rim locks like rally cross cars!
They look like he has them pumped up rock hard too (probably as much to get some steering control as a load issue but as we know high pressures take a far greater load), AND the ELEPHANT in the thread was he has wheels with a bead that MATCHES the tyres - who would a thunk that might count, keeping the air in and tyres on the rim.
The other big issue in this thread is that it is in a R3Touring forum and started by a R3T rider but the vast bulk of replies are from Standard, Classic and Roadster owners and riders. Roadsters have very different handling characteristics to Tourings due to major frame, forks, wheel size and width etc differences.
I have read comparisons comments in reviews etc but not ridden my R3T yet to compare.
If any one wants a set of R3 Touring wheels going cheap.
If your adventurous here is your chance to go Double Dark Side and get a vintage car tire or an Avon sidecar front as well!
Like I said, 'values' differ and not in a strictly monetary sense.
But hey, I am PNG born, then Brisbane, Naracoorte, Adelaide, the world, Darwin, then Canberra person but my only land or property is in the NT still. Your current location or residence does not define a person.
Besides plenty of rich people in Adelaide and poor ones in Canberra like everywhere else. Character judgements based on Dark side 'discussions' are not advisable as it always exposes strong views usually opposing and usually unaligned to any other personality, WEALTH or character trait.
