Clutch Modification

I think I've reached intermediate status now in terms of R3 tranmission removal and i can get it all apart in 1 day by myself. If i was i your shoes (Given what I've seen in terms of wear on a box with only 50k kms on it) I'd go all out and look inside...all the input here suggests that it's not really one thing in particular that causes the 'clunkiness' most of us experience.

These are the parts @ratsidecar spoke of. The one the right is the new design. He is correct, it really firms up the feel of the gear changes.

Do you think that if I order the Detent Arm Assy I'll automatically get the new style with the roller bearing as pictured?

I checked on BikeBandit and they list the Detent Arm Assy as being only $22.30? What worries me is the Spares kit and Arm Assy being the same price? They also have an Eng No 372325 but I'm not sure if that is before or after but I selected a 2015 Roadster as my bike for the parts selection so should be OK

Sorry to be a hassle but its a long way to have something sent and it be wrong.

Hi @sleeves
What happened with you?

Hi @sleeves

Hi All

Sorry been off line for ages and only just come back. Just had other things and some personal stuff going on.

I rebuilt my clutch and used the Barnett Plates and Springs. Think @Paul Bryant got one of my spare spring sets I had made and fitted those withe his EBC plates. We ditched the EBC springs I think.

Fitted the late clutch plate and a new detent spring but the Detent Arm Assy is still in the spares box as its a motor out job to change.

Oddly the anti judder spring must have been factory installed the wrong way around (took pics at time but cannot find) used to have a driveshaft lash issue when crawling in traffic this is gone now.

Best value for money for making a nice gear-change? Adjust the clutch correctly and use the correct weight oil.
